Christian Leadership Coaching

Jane is passionate about fostering life-bringing change—one person at a time, one step at a time. She loves joining clients in the middle of a rock and a hard place, sitting with them, supporting them as they break through and forge new ways of living: new ways of thinking, behaving, experiencing, relating with themselves, relating with others, and relating with the world around them. She desires to see clients experience greater freedom to thrive rather than survive, whether in traumatic life situations or in the challenges of daily life.

Jane works from an attachment-based, trauma-informed therapeutic lens. She believes that every person is created for connection—with themselves, with others, and with the world around them. These relationships are vital to our existence and can be both our greatest strengths and challenges in life. She has seen how no person is exempt from the realities of difficult life experiences and their impact on how we function and relate. Habits, strategies, and skills that once helped us cope can often become the very things that keep us from fully enjoying life and relationships.

Jane has had the privilege of working with youth and adults in various capacities over the years. She has served as a director of summer day camp programs and led youth groups for many years. She has also lived and worked with and supported adults with developmental disabilities for 8 years in a community called L’Arche Greater Vancouver.

Jane holds a Bachelor of Arts from UBC in speech science and psychology and a Master of Arts in marriage and family therapy. She has training in emotionally focused therapy and the Neufeld approach and incorporates aspects of CBT and solution-focused therapy. Jane has experience with and enjoys working with individuals aged 15 and up, couples, and families. Core areas of therapeutic work include anxiety, depression, relational/familial conflict, grief, parenting support and life transitions.

May’s philosophy is everyone is a full glass – they just haven’t realized how full they are and that there are bigger glasses waiting for them to fill. For those desiring to dive in, her role as a coach is to encourage you to look at what is in the liquid (ie. What kind of drink are you?) and not just focus on the gap between the liquid and the top.

May completed her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology & Immunology and after nearly two decades of academic research work, she decided to head into a new career in coaching. She is certified through UBC’s Organizational Coaching program and working towards the International Coaching Federation certification. The process of taking a leap, making a change and embracing the unknown are areas she hopes to share and explore with clients. May enjoys learning what motivates people, how they are affected by the systems they are embedded in and how they can also influence their spheres. Using well researched frameworks and theories as a foundation, she will creatively partner with clients who bring their own unique circumstances and expertise.

She is looking forward to learning about your stories, challenges, and highlights in the coaching journey to discover deeper insights and set future goals.
